Change Submission Method
How to change submission method from PMS to Web, or from Web to PMS.
Facilities may submit OCFs through two channels: the HCAI web application at www.hcai.ca, or a Practice Management System (PMS) provided by a PMS Vendor. Use the side menu to view step-by-step text and video instruction on changing your submission method.
Only users with the Facility Administrator role may update user information.
Quick Tip: Do I have the Facility Administrator role? When logged in to HCAI, Facility Administrators are able to view the Manage tab and the Facility Management sub-tab.
Change submission method from PMS to web
Sign in to www.hcai.ca.
Go to the Manage tab and Facility Management sub-tab.
Scroll down the page to the HCAI Submission Method section (View screenshot).
Under HCAI Submission Method, in the “Practice Management System (PMS) Integration?” field, select “No”.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Save”.
Change submission method from web to PMS
Sign in to www.hcai.ca.
Go to Manage tab and the Facility Management sub-tab.
Scroll down the page to the HCAI Submission Method section (View screenshot).
Under HCAI Submission Method, in the “Practice Management System (PMS) Integration?” field, select “Yes”.
Enter the name of your PMS Vendor and enter your PMS User Name in the fields provided.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Save”.
You will be redirected to the PMS User Name and Password Confirmation screen, and emails containing the password link and PMS user name will be sent to the Authorizing Officer’s email address.
Follow the instructions in the password reset email to create the PMS user account password.
Send the user name and password to your PMS vendor.
The Facility’s Authorizing Officer must provide the user name and password to your PMS Vendor.
