HCAI Update – Release 3.32: November 18, 2024 / September 17, 2024
HCAI System Release 3.32 is scheduled to go live on November 18, 2024. This bulletin provides an overview of the enhancements included in this release.
System Release 3.32 will include the following updates:
- Form 1 Redevelopment
- Insurers who believe they may be impacted by the internal framework redevelopment can test the Form 1 using the test environment. Testing details have been distributed to the business leads of all integrating insurers.
- Please note, HCAI communications are intended to provide details about user-facing changes on the HCAI web application. During release development, further internal changes may be applied to any OCF for consistency and other purposes which would not impact the web user’s experience. The test environment is available prior to the release going live for any required testing.
HCAI is enhancing the Form 1 by redeveloping this form in a new framework, to align with the recent redevelopment of the OCF-21B and OCF-21C. There will be no functional changes to the form’s workflow. The visible changes are largely cosmetic in nature to make for a more efficient user experience, and improve things like text alignment, spacing, and the sequencing and consistency of error messages.
- Enhanced Security
- Ask your IT department to add HCAI’s email address (systemdelivery@hcai.ca) to your safe senders list to ensure you can receive automatic emails from HCAI.
- To double-check the email address that is associated with your user account, any user can review the My Profile tab in HCAI. If your email address requires updating, please ask a User Administrator at your organization to update the information for you.
HCAI is continuously enhancing security and privacy. It is important to ensure you are able to receive essential emails from HCAI such as password resets and verification codes.
- Recommended Browser Update
For the best user experience, access HCAI on a secure, up-to-date web browser. As of Release 3.32, we recommend using Microsoft Edge, Chrome, or Firefox on Windows 10, or Safari 17 on MacOS Sonoma (Version 14.0).
Planned HCAI System Unavailability
In preparation for Release 3.32, the following system unavailability window is planned:
Friday, November 15 – Monday, November 18, 2024
- The HCAI system will be unavailable from 5:00 p.m. (ET) on Friday, November 15, 2024 and is expected to resume active status at 8:00 a.m. (ET) on Monday, November 18, 2024.
- Insurers must have all of their transactions successfully processed by 4:59 p.m. (ET) Friday, November 15, 2024.
Information for Integrating Insurers
Release 3.32 is an integration-impacting release for which updated schemas have been published.
The Release 3.32 Integration Bulletin was distributed to integrating insurers on August 6. Please review this email for details about integration enhancements included in the release and testing information.
Other Important Reminders
This is a reminder that as part of the ongoing maturity of the HCAI system, data retention requirements have been defined.
- Claim-claimant records and all associated documents will become candidates for deletion from HCAI seven years after they have been deactivated by the insurer.
- This is a longer-term project that will not begin as part of System Release 3.32, but ample lead-time is being provided to enable insurers to prepare if necessary.
