HCAI Update – Release 3.31: An Early Look at Upcoming Enhancements / October 5, 2023
HCAI System Release 3.31 is scheduled to go live in the spring of 2024. This bulletin is to provide insurers with an early look at some of the updates included in this release to help facilitate any advance planning. Integrating insurers should also be advised that Release 3.31 will be an integration-impacting release.
System Release 3.31 will include the following updates:
OCF-21C Redevelopment in a New Framework
- Following the redevelopment of the OCF-21B in Release 3.29, the OCF-21C has now been redeveloped in the new framework and will be launched in Release 3.31.
- There will be no functional changes or changes to the form’s workflow. The visible changes are largely cosmetic in nature to improve things like text alignment and sequencing of error messages.
- Insurers who believe they may be impacted by the internal framework redevelopment will have a chance to test the OCF-21C when the test environment becomes available. Information about the test environment will be distributed to integrating insurers in the coming months.
Google ReCAPTCHA Enabled on Some Screens
- To continue enhancing HCAI security, Google ReCAPTCHA will be implemented on ‘Forgot Your Password’, ‘Forgot your User Name’, and Facility Registration screens. When an interaction is suspected to be automated, a Captcha challenge will display.
A further comprehensive communication outlining web application updates will be distributed as Release 3.31 approaches.
Updates for Integrating Insurers
System Release 3.31 will be an integration-impacting release. Enhancements will be made to the Claim-Claimant Feed to enable insurers to perform certain updates that are currently only possible using the web channel:
- Disable a claim and its associated claimant(s) record.
- Update Claim Number, Policy Number and Date of Accident for a claim record.
- Update Claimant ID for claimant record.
- A new action called “Deactivate” will be introduced to deactivate claim and claimant records. This will perform the same function as the existing “Delete” for the claim <Action/> node, which we aim to phase out in a future release.
These integration changes are optional. More information will be shared in the coming months, including an updated technical document and information about the test environment and official testing window.
Other Important Reminders
In follow up to the notice that was distributed on June 22, this is a reminder that as part of the ongoing maturity of the HCAI system, data retention requirements have been defined.
- Claims and all associated documents will become candidates for deletion from HCAI seven years after they have been deactivated by the insurer.
- This is a longer-term project that will not begin as part of System Release 3.31, but ample lead-time is being provided to enable insurers to prepare if necessary.
You will continue to receive communications about this topic as more details become available.
