Release 3.23: HCAI Update Going Live June 1, 2020 / April 7, 2020
As you may remember from HCAIinfo’s Year Ahead page, there were three updates to anticipate in 2020. This bulletin is to inform you of HCAI’s second update of the year, Release 3.23, which goes live June 1, 2020. This release aims to ensure a positive user experience by maturing privacy and overall improving the functionality of HCAI. Here are 3 things you need to know about Release 3.23:
1. Password Reset Emails Are Changing
You have a lot of sensitive information on your HCAI account and this change is part of HCAI’s security measures to ensure the safety of your facility data. As of June 1, 2020, when a password reset is requested, you will receive an email containing a password reset link. The link will be valid for 24 hours from when it was sent, so be sure to click it and follow the password reset steps before it expires.
If you find that your password reset has been requested, and you did not receive the email, it is likely because you either do not have an email associated with your user account or you’re not checking the correct email inbox. Please ensure that your user email address is up-to-date or ask your Facility User Administrator to add or update your email for you. As many facilities use multiple email addresses, be sure to check all email inboxes.
2. PMS Passwords No Longer Being Emailed
As of Release 3.23, the PMS (Practice Management System) user name/password email will no longer be generated. The PMS login credentials will only be visible on the webpage at the time of your facility registration or when a PMS password reset is requested. This means that as of June 1st the Authorizing Officer must send the login credentials shown on the webpage screen to their PMS vendor as the user name and password email will no longer be generated to the AO. This is another one of HCAI’s password safety measures that helps keep your data secure.
3. Updates to Supported Browsers
For the best user experience, ensure you are using an up-to-date web browser and operating system. HCAI recommends using Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 10, or Safari 12 on macOS Mojave (Version 10.14). For more information about supported browsers and system settings visit HCAIinfo’s Computer Requirements page.
Planned System Outage
In preparation for Release 3.23, the following system unavailability window is planned:
The HCAI system will be unavailable from 5:00 p.m. (EDT) Friday May 29, 2020 and is expected to resume active status at 8:00 a.m. (EDT) Monday, June 1, 2020. Every Health Care Facility must have all of its transactions successfully processed by 4:59 p.m. (EDT) Friday, May 29, 2020.
